My TCS NQT INTERVIEW Experience (EE branch)
Duration - 30 minutes
There were 3 panelist(1TR, 1MR, 1HR)
HR - good evening
Me - good evening ma'am
HR - How are you?
Me - I'm fine. How are you?
HR - I'm also good.
Document verification by the camera
HR - tell me about yourself.
Me - Told.
TR - good evening
Me - good evening sir.
TR - How are you?
Me - I'm fine. How are you?
TR - In your resume it is written that your areas of interest are electric machine and power systems. But in TCS we don't have the applications of these subjects then how will you manage at TCS?
Me - I was trying to convince them about my interests in cs subjects. Also mentioned some subjects like c, data structure, java, python
TR - Are you nervous?
Me - Yes sir a little bit. Then told him about a problem i was facing with my cpu and also ask for forgiveness for the inconvenience.
TR - Don't worry. It will not affect your interview. If you have any problem then don't hesitate to tell us.
Me - Thank you sir.
TR - Ok so let me check your technical skills. As you have mention c, java, python can you tell me the difference between c and java?
Me - Told that c is a procedure oriented language and java object oriented. In java we have classes and object where as in c there is no concepts like that.
TR - Do you knor the memory representation in c and java and hoy they differs?
Me - Sorry sir, i dont know about the memory representation and how they differs.
TR - Ok. What is the difference between a pointer variable and a normal variable.?
Me - Told
TR - He gives me 2 snippet of a code related to pointer and ask me the output.
Me - Told
TR - Do you know database?
Me - No sir asit was not in our university curriculum.
TR - Good.
TR -Do you know database?
Me - No sir as it was not in our university curriculum.
TR - Then gives me a easy puzzle.
Me - I solved instantly.
TR - One last question. What is abstract class?
Me - told
TR - Ok Soumavi thank you.
Me - Thank you sir. Have a nice day.
MR - Good evening. How are you?
Me - good evening sir. I'm fine. How are you?
MR - I'm fine.
MR - I have heard you technical round and you were answering good in that round
MR - if you are assign to a work and you have to do it everyday. Then after 2 - 3 months you realised that you are loosing interest in that. Then what will you do?
Me - told
MR - there are 5 people in a team. Excluding the 1st one the average age of the rest is A, then excluding the 2ns one the average becomes B, and then C, D, E similarly? Can you find their ages? You don't have to tell the answer just give me the approach.
Me - Told
MR - Yes your approach is right. Thank you Soumavi.
Me - Thank you sir. Have a nice day.
HR - Do you have any gap?
Me - No ma'am.
HR - Do you have any standing arrears?
Me - No ma'am.
HR - Will you have any problem if you are given the posting at chennai?
Me - No ma'am. I like to explore new places.
HR - Will your parents have any problem.
Me - No ma'am, not at all.
HR - You have excellent marks in your academics and also you have different areas of interest, then why don't you going for higher studies?
Me - Tried to convince her why I want the job by giving some reasons.
HR - Ok Soumavi. Thank you.
Me - Thank you ma'am. Have a nice day.
P. S. - Interviewers in my case were very friendly and they were trying to make me comfortable all the time. No questions were asked from project and core subjects in my case.
Points to be noted - Please go through your resume and don't be nervous. Whenever there is a question comes that you don't know then accept it without losing any time.
